George Town in Penang is all about pretty streets and amazing hawker stalls for delicious food.
We landed on our feet with a great hostel – if you’re ever there, go straight to Kimberley House.
We spent our first day mooching around the streets:
And popped into the not altogether very impressive Fort Cornwallis to take a look around:
And spent A LOT of time eating. Highlights included being terrified and overwhelmed trying to order dim sum for breakfast. Old ladies with trollies of food shouted at us until we just took what we were given. Apart from a couple of unidentified seafood somethings, it was very successful indeed and we went back for more the next day.
